Anniversary Session at TOrrey Pines

The Gliderport at Torrey Pines is by farrrrr one of my favorite places to shoot engagement, couples, or portrait sessions in San Diego. I had such a blast shooting some golden hour anniversary photos for Tessa and Kevin at the Gliderport! This shoot was a creative high for me during quarantine - and it was so much fun to try some new stuff out that I’ve learned since I’ve been hunkered down at home! I love shooting here because I feel like it can look like a completely different place depending on time of year, lighting, time of day, or even if I just choose to go down a different path from one shoot to the next. There’s so much stunning variety here and this sunset session is a perfect example of that. The cliffs, grassy hills, ocean views, and trails make for such an incredible backdrop. Not to mention you can also take a trail down to Blacks Beach for even MORE variety, but we stayed up on the cliffs for this shoot and still had so much to work with. I ended up doing a few shoots in a row here after this session, and each one looks completely different. I rarely shoot at locations where I feel overwhelmed by my options (in a good way!), and this is one of them. When I’m shooting sessions, I also highly prioritize finding a place where the couple can be mostly private-ish, because I feel like people are so much more comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera if there aren’t people around. The Gliderport is great for that too, I always know I can find a good spot to shoot where people aren’t crowding around. This is one of my favorite shoots to date and I feel like I can just keep swooning over these forever. Eeeeeee!

If you like the Gliderport, check out this wedding I shot there in 2018!!
